Phoenix Ogilvy’s Dushan and Nigel to compete at Cannes Young Lions

Phoenix Ogilvy’s Dushan Pieris and Nigel Nugawela will be competing in the highly esteemed Young Lions Competition at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity in France. After taking part in a local competition organised by Metal Factor, the representative for Cannes Lions in Sri Lanka, Dushan and Nigel were adjudged winners in the Print category of the competition. The Young Lions competition brings together some of the world’s most talented and creative young professionals in the field of advertising. This will be Dushan’s second time in Cannes; he attended the festival last year to compete in the Young Lions Film competition. Phoenix Ogilvy Chairman Irvin Weerackody said: “Cannes Young Lions is an extremely prestigious competition and I’m very proud that Phoenix Ogilvy’s young talent will be competing in Young Lions for the second consecutive year.” Cannes Lions will take place from 14 to 21 June. Over 12,000 creative professionals from 94 countries will gather for the world’s greatest celebration of creativity in communications. In addition to the highly anticipated awards show, the festival will feature a number of workshops, seminars, master classes and exhibitions.
