Sahil Gunesekere wins exclusive place at Spikes Young Creative Academy in Singapore

Sahil Gunesekere of the Academy of Design was the only Sri Lankan student to win a place at the very prestigious Young Creative Academy at Spikes Asia in Singapore this year.
Students from all over Asia are invited to submit their portfolios to an elite panel of creative judges who, after evaluation select 15 of the most promising students from the Asia Pacific Region to a three-day exclusive learning opportunity conducted by world class speakers. The students are also given an opportunity to participate in the seminars and workshops during Spikes Asia.
Alain Parizeau, Head of Graphic Design at AOD where Sahil studies, said: “We are very proud of Sahil and the fact that one of our students won shows that we are making great progress in the field of graphic design. We look forward to him sharing his learnings from the Young Creative Academy.”
All local competitions in connection with Spikes Asia are conducted by Metal Factor, Sri Lanka.
Ranil de Silva, the head of Metal Factor, had this to say: “Sahil has earned for himself an outstanding opportunity to attend the Spikes Asia Academy which would provide him and in depth understanding of the marketing communications industry in the 21st century. I am sure that this program will equip him to meet with success in this industry as an aspiring young professional. It is most commendable that Sahil was selected for this program. His portfolio was judged by a panel who selected 15 of the most promising students from the region. I am confident that he would bring back with him valuable learning which would empower his career.”
