Singer No. 1 brand for 10 consecutive years

Also wins ‘Youth Brand of the Year’ and ‘Consumer Durables – Brand of the Year’

For the 10th consecutive year, Singer was chosen as Sri Lanka’s favourite brand at the latest edition of the SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards held at the Waters Edge recently. 

In a highly-successful night for the country’s leading consumer durable retailer, Singer was able to win ‘Youth Brand of the Year’, ‘Consumer Durables – Brand of the Year’ and rounded off the night by winning the coveted ‘People’s Brand of the Year’ – the highest award for a brand in the country.

‘SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards’ is the hallmark award show of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and recognises brands and personalities that have made a significant impression in the minds of the people of the island. The event is one of the most anticipated marketing events in Sri Lanka’s business calendar as both the nominees and winners are selected by the voice of the people, through a comprehensive island-wide research conducted by Nielsen Sri Lanka – one of the largest information and research companies in the world providing market research expertise. 

Expressing his views on the landmark win, Singer Sri Lanka Group CEO Asoka Pieris stated, “Winning this award for the 10th consecutive year has been one of the proudest moments for everyone at Singer. Sri Lankans all over the country have chosen Singer as the most outstanding brand across all categories of products and services simply due to the fact that, Singer has become the closest to their hearts. In fact, this award is a recognition of the way we treat our valued customers and what the brand Singer means to them. It also highlights the solid relationship we have built with the general public through our continuous engagement in social service programs including our sponsorships and active participation in uplifting sports, education and health sectors in the country through various occasions and events.” 

He concluded by adding that winning ‘Youth Brand of the Year’ shows that although Singer is a company with a long-standing history, it has also won the hearts of  today’s youth  by successfully connecting with them through innovative products and services offered, including computers, smart phones and not forgetting many sponsorships.
