The Sri Lanka Institute of marketing (SLIM), the National Body of Marketing in Sri Lanka is proud to unveil its latest project, ‘The International Marketing Conference’ (IMC) 2013, which will be held in Colombo on 8 February 2013.
Under the theme ‘To boldly go beyond the known into the unknown,’ the conference promises to deliver tremendous value to its participants and would be the most looked forward event for marketing knowledge.
IMC 2013 will focus on creating knowledge amongst Sri Lankan marketers by bringing in internationally recognised marketers, to share their valuable insights which would help the local marketers to go beyond their traditional boundaries, by adopting new age marketing and business strategies as well as international best practices.
The speakers comprise of different nationalities such as American, British, Chinese and Sri Lankan who has immense exposure to both Asian and global markets. The conference speakers will share practical exercises as well as academic cases to give the participants the ideal mix of theory and practice. The topics of discussion would be; new-age marketing, digital marketing, branding, strategy and sustainability and marketing communications.
SLIM’s vision being to add value to the nation’s marketers, introducing IMC 2013 will uplift the knowledge of the marketing fraternity in Sri Lanka, thereby adding value to the economy and nation.
SLIM, which is renowned for its service to the marketing fraternity and its delivery of high quality educational products over the years, has also established itself as the premier organiser of leading marketing events in Sri Lanka. Some of SLIM’s annual main events are: SLIM Brand Excellence Awards, Effie Awards, SLIM NASCO Awards, SLIM Neilson Peoples Awards, SLIM Speech Idol, etc.
SLIM is the national body of marketing in Sri Lanka, and has promoted professionalism in marketing in Sri Lanka since 1970. SLIM is also a member of the Asia Marketing Federation, affiliated to the World Marketing Association and a member of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka.
During the past 40 years of its existence, SLIM has introduced many initiatives to take forward marketing professionalism in the country. SLIM is also a Gold award winner at the Business Excellence awards held by the National chamber of commerce in recognition of the service is has done to the marketing fraternity in Sri Lanka.
