SLIM signs MoU with AMW

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Associated Motorways Private Ltd (AMW), to deliver a customised certificate in sales and marketing module to the AMW sales and marketing staff. The MoU was signed by Vice President Dhanesh R. Jayathilaka, on behalf of SLIM and Human Resources Group Director Kushan Wijewickrama, on behalf of AMW at the Associated Motorways head office recently, in the presence of the AMW Managing Director Samantha Rajapaksa.

The agreements were exchanged by AMW Managing Director Samantha Rajapaksa and SLIM Vice President Dhanesh R. Jayathilaka. “The enhancing of sales and marketing knowledge of staff reflects AMW’s constant attention for enhancing the quality and standards. Partnering the country’s premier marketing body that has won many local and international awards for business excellence, depicts the company’s commitment to overall quality levels,” Wijewickrama said.

“We have invested in this program with great expectations and believe that the sales and marketing staff of AMW would gain the maximum output from this initiative and deliver the best, to both, the company and customer,” Wijewickrama added.

SLIM President Gamika De Silva commenting on the initiative said: “The sales and marketing module is exclusively designed for AMW staff, and it provides them with a platform to go up in the corporate ladder. Sales and marketing is a very important aspect in business, and it contributes greatly to the success of the organization.”

“Marketing of high net-worth products such as automobiles, should be carefully planned and addressed personally, a pitch needs to be made to best suit his or her requirements and also build confidence,” Jayathlaka said. SLIM CEO/Executive Director Sanath Senanayake emphasised that they were indeed pleased to be a part of the HR development drive of a top corporate body such as AMW; SLIM appreciated the management team for placing their confidence in SLIM, the premier marketing body of Sri Lanka.

SLIM has entered into similar MoU’s with leading corporates in the country, such as Unilever Sri Lanka, HNB Assurance, Etisalat and Atlas. The institute has a rich portfolio of specialised courses in marketing. It has created a professional and educational career path in marketing commencing from the entry level, preliminary certificate in marketing going right up to MBA covering a gamut of disciplines in marketing such as, brand management, sales management, airline marketing, insurance marketing and pharmaceutical marketing.
