Atlas, Sri Lanka’s leading brand in stationery and office supplies has tied up with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) to develop the knowledge and competencies of its sales team.
“This programme has been developed to focus on providing solutions beyond conventional training methods and is based completely around the desired outcomes of Atlas, who has taken a bold step to set a fine example to the corporate world in this unique process,” said SLIM President Thushara Perera.
The programme will be conducted at least at eight locations. It will cover Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Kurunegala, Batticaloa and Vavuniya over a period of six months. The programme will specifically target sales reps, supervisors and area managers of Atlas.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Atlas and SLIM at Clarion Hotel Kiribathgoda on Monday, 13 February. Singing on behalf of SLIM was President Thushara Perera and CEO Nirmal Madanayaka signed for Ceylon Pencil Company.
Explaining the objective of the programme, Madanayaka said that it was aimed at improving the competency of the entire sales team so that they would be able have a better understanding of the current role and be able to perform their jobs better in the future.
As the national institute of marketing in Sri Lanka, SLIM has been promoting marketing excellence and elevating the status of marketing in the country since 1970. Incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1980, SLIM is a member of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and a member of the Asia Marketing Federation, which is affiliated to the World Marketing Association.
