When a new publication claims the country’s top honours, it is no mean feat. Today, ADA has achieved spectacular growth in a short space of time and is the second highest read Sinhala daily newspaper.
Marking new boundaries, ADA in partnership with the Colombo Stock Exchange published an investment guide on 16 September this year, for potential investors. This investment guide is part of the ‘BSmart’ series regularly offered to ADA readers. Previously, BSmart issues have offered sponsored content focused on smart banking, smart driving, smart dressing and other issues.
The new BSmart Magazine is a new concept affording advertising clients an unprecedented opportunity to sponsor valuable reader content on varied subjects.
Conversely, the advertiser reaps invaluable brand exposure specifically designed towards creating brand loyalty.
Ada was the chosen newspaper of the Securities and Exchange Commission to publicise its Investment Day which was held on 5 July 2013.
Readership survey conducted by LMRB
A readership survey conducted by Lanka Market Research Bureau (LMRB) in May 2013, recorded a 350% growth in the readership of ADA since January 2013; thus recording a phenomenal readership rise of 330,000 per day. The survey also revealed a clear indication of readership loyalty. Ada garnered second position only to its sister publication the Daily Lankadeepa.
Unity paper
ADA walked away with a Media Bronze Award at the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June 2013; when, under the guidance of Leo Burnett Solutions Inc., it published a Unity Paper. This Unity Paper was a bilingual newspaper published under the Ada brand aimed at fostering national unity and harmony in Sri Lanka.
Additionally, the Unity Paper went on to win Silver for the best magazine/newspaper in the Media Category and a Bronze for best use in integration of offline media at the Spikes Asia Festival 2013 held in Singapore.
Little Angels
Cognizant with readership demands, Ada published ‘Little Angels’ in June 2013, a magazine carrying photographs of babies born in 2013 to coincide with Mothers’ Day and was extremely popular. Sponsored by leading brands in Sri Lanka the magazine was an absolute knockout and is scheduled for annual publication with the next issue coming out in June 2014.
3D publication
Creating another first, Ada published the first Sinhala 3D Newspaper in March this year.
Augmented Reality
Making a series of firsts, Ada along with the Daily Mirror published the first newspaper linking traditional print media with digital media via augmented reality. It is with a great sense of pride that today Ada stands tall in the newspaper world.
