Leo Burnett Solutions Inc (LBSI) the entire team of the Sri Lankan office of the internationally acclaimed advertising agency network Leo Burnett Worldwide, travelled to Unawatuna recently to attend their annual ‘PlayShop 2012’ – a Leo Burnett initiative combining the activities of team building and play.

The much anticipated annual event went digital this year with the organisers communicating about the program via an interactive platform that enabled all staff members to register, select their games of choice, vote and communicate with fellow Sri Lankan Burnetters on challenges.

“The PlayShop is designed to provide an opportunity for our entire team to step out of the office for 48 hours to unwind and relax. It is also an ideal opportunity for the team to learn more about each other and to collaborate as a team. We at Leo Burnett invest in our people and strongly believe that the company’s success is dependent on the climate within the agency and the motivation of the team. This is just as important as creating good work. In fact, it is the means to creating better work and delivering upon our commitments to our clients. I was happy to see how the concept of the PlayShop has evolved over the year. It was also good to know that the organisers had deployed the digital medium as main method of communication at this year’s PlayShop,” said Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. Managing Director Ranil de Silva.

He added: “Leo Burnett puts its people at the heart of the company; creating a foundation that revolves around the understanding of people and culture. Developing our people is a critical element of the company’s culture. We believe that a motivated team will help ensure the successes we are pursuing. This two day PlayShop is not a regular training program or corporate retreat, it is designed to strengthen the bonds within the team.”
