Delivering yet again, TBWA\Sri Lanka created history in the Sri Lankan advertising industry when their work was recognised with three Golds, one Silver, one Bronze and 12 finalists, across five campaigns at the recently-concluded Abby Awards in Goa. Taking the honours at the Awards was the ‘Big on Respect’ Elders Day project; a tribute to our nation’s elders where they benefitted from effortlessly reading their daily paper, when a media group printed their entire edition – both Sinhala and English – with 70% larger fonts on that particular day. This project was recognised in the Media Abby with a Gold and in the Creative Abby with 2 Golds and a Silver. Maintaining the winning streak, Sparks Electric Vehicles radio was also awarded a Bronze Abby, in addition to 12 finalists for work done across five campaigns; AIA Insurance, Quantum Treadmills, Khao Shong Coffee, Sparks Electric Vehicles and a local Media Publication Group. TBWA\Sri Lanka Chief Creative Officer Subhash Pinnapola commented: “Today is a very special day for us, we are truly honoured to be recognised in numerous categories at such a prestigious show. This is a result of the passion, dedication and hard work of our team and I am truly proud of all of them.” TBWA\Sri Lanka Managing Director Renuka Marshall said: “Being that this is the first time we have participated at the Abby Awards, creating history in the local ad industry with this recognition is a fantastic achievement; more so as this was for work done for brands and clients across multiple categories. It is a testimony that disruptive work cuts through.” The Abby Awards honour creative excellence in advertising. Undoubtedly, the biggest and the most prestigious ad award show in the region attended by more than 2,500 professionals from the marketing, advertising, media, research and PR fraternity.
