At Effie Sri Lanka 2012, the prestigious advertising awards for effective communication, TBWA\TAL and OMD Sri Lanka upped their performance in the previous year by winning two silver awards this time around.
TBWA\TAL and OMD Sri Lanka won awards for Aviva NDB’s Health Insurance Launch campaign which was incidentally the only one shortlisted and subsequently awarded in the insurance category. They picked up their second silver of the night for their Prima Kottumee ‘Hot & Spicy Big Match Fever’ campaign in the packaged food category. This was the third year in a row that Prima Kottumee won metal at the Effies.
“We are proud of our achievement because it bears testimony to our deep understanding of the local market and customer insights, commitment and passion that led to good creative work, as well as working together with the client to achieve common goals,” said TBWA\TAL’s Managing Director Renuka Marshall. “From a strategic point of view, it is proof that the ‘disruption’ framework we follow has been a success. We have succeeded in thinking differently and producing a communication solution that has brought rich dividends for our clients.”
Elaborating further on the key role media played, OMD Sri Lanka CEO Keith Wijesuriya stated, “We have always championed a fresh approach towards both traditional and newly emerging media. This was amply demonstrated in our efforts for the Prima Kottumee campaign, creatively exploiting new and exciting media touch points. We have stayed true to our new brand mantra of always thinking, always asking and always doing.”
