Unilever Sri Lanka and SLIM launch professional selling diploma

Unilever Sri Lanka in association with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing launched a professional selling diploma for sales representatives employed by the company’s distribution business partners and service providers who operate in all areas of the country.

The launch was attended by Surith Perera, Customer Development Director of Unilever Sri Lanka and Gamika De Silva, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing as well as other distinguished guests from both parties.

The launch of the professional selling diploma also included the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Unilever Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. Speaking on the occasion, Surith Perera, Customer Development Director, Unilever Sri Lanka, stated, “Our front line, the sales force, has been a key to our success. Their dedication and hard work has helped Unilever get to where we are today. Through this initiative, we will develop their capability and talent to win in today’s competitive market place whilst helping them to grow both as individuals and as professionals.”

In 2013, 144 sales representatives will participate in the nine month diploma program, with the company investing in the skill development of these individuals.
