In a ground-breaking move and for the first time in the automotive battery industry in Sri Lanka, Browns Battery and Tyre Strategic Business Unit recently launched the Browns E-Care battery warranty activation.

This marks a milestone in the implementation of the first-ever paperless E-Warranty in the Sri Lankan automotive battery sector, thereby transforming customer experience from this point forward. With this new innovation, customers can now disregard traditional printed warranty cards by opting for a paperless solution. The warranty will be activated by Exide agents via the Browns E-Care App, an interface exclusively designed and developed in-house by Browns’ Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS).

With the introduction of this new platform – accessible via mobile, web and SMS – registered dealers will be able to effortlessly activate Exide e-warranty for purchased batteries. They could also view and share the e-warranty with the customer while checking relevant details on-the-go. Other value-added features include access to warranty details by scanning the QR code on the battery or by submitting the serial, vehicle or mobile number. Consumers can additionally search and reach a dealer based on live location and via maps, make calls and request a service. Users will furthermore receive alerts on service dates, battery maintenance and more. The renowned BattMobile services will be integrated into both the mobile and web applications, offering faster and more convenient access.

Whether it’s activating warranty in electronic format, checking validity, contacting the nearest dealer and more, the Browns E-Care battery warranty represents a significant leap, ushering in a new era of convenience, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Commenting on the accolade, Browns Group Chief Operating Officer, Automotive and Hardware Cluster Ajith De Silva said: “As the leader in the automotive battery sector in Sri Lanka, it is our responsibility to provide innovative solutions that offer a seamless experience to both customers and dealers. With the introduction of Browns’ E-Care Battery Warranty, we have created a dynamic platform that not only eliminates the hassle of printed warranty cards for both parties, but has additionally paved the way in digitalising our services in a new and impactful way. We believe that the development of this uniquely in-house-designed interface will bring value to the market.”
