One of the world’s most well-known tyre brands, Maxxis, offers a high-quality tyre product range to customers in 180 countries and employs more than 28,000 people.

Since being founded in 1967, Maxxis has become known for superior products. Maxxis has preserved its top 10 position on the tyre business’ annual world rankings for the largest tyre-makers.

Maxxis has operations in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, India, Indonesia and Dubai. Maxxis operates six plants in Taiwan, eight in China and also one each in Thailand, Vietnam, India and Indonesia. The capacity totals over one million tyres a day. Since its introduction to Sri Lanka, Maxxis’ tyre complaint ratio stands at 0.034. This tells the story of Maxxis’ suitability in our country. Maxxis’ new product, Premitra HP5, is being launched as its high performance flagship pattern. This high-tech creation was honoured by Wheels Magazine in 2017.

Premitra HP5 secured another top spot for dry braking in Australian Motoring Magazine in a 2017 tyre test. Once more in 2016 ‘Autozurnal’ Magazine rated Premitra HP5 at the top for dry handling four wheels Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) braking. ABS avoids uncontrolled skidding of the vehicle and decreases the distance travelled without slipping on highways.

Yet again in 2015, Premitra HP5 was named ‘Tyre of the Year’ at the Motor Trend Magazine awards ceremony. The ‘Tyre of the Year’ award ceremony concentrates on the best-performing tyre products in the world.

Premitra HP5 was designed with a full-silica rubber compound to reduce heat generation as well as to improve wear performance and durability. Premitra HP5’s tread and groove has been designed to reduce tyre vibration noise and cut down rolling resistance. This new genre minimises hydroplaning. The high-speed stability of the pattern has been further improved by high strength steel belts.

Maxxis has thus taken a huge step forward in sustaining its eminence, having one of the most extensive ranges of Premitra HP5. The excellent performance of Premitra HP5 has made Maxxis extremely positive about future demand in the first-class automobile sector. Maxxis Premitra HP5 tyres were clearly something that MAXXIS was looking forward to.

Tyre House Group Director Gayan Fonseka said it was an honour for Premitra HP5 to be recognised by Wheels Magazine, Motor Trend, Autozurnal and Australian Motoring Magazine.
