In line with the company’s endeavours to broaden opportunities whilst delivering more value to its driver partners and customers alike, PickMe, Sri Lanka’s own technology driven digital mobility solutions provider announced the launch of a ‘Self-Registration App’. The app is ideal for part-time driver partners as they can download it and register with PickMe without having to visit the PickMe Head Office in person.

“We developed the Self-Registration app with part-time drivers in mind. Once they download the highly user friendly app, our part-time driver partners can optimise their otherwise underutilized time and cover their fuel cost and vehicle lease or make a reasonable profit depending on their situation and time availability. Part time driver partners can pick up and drop passengers from the vicinity of their own neighbourhood without having to drive out of their way. One of the indirect, but extremely valuable outcomes of this initiative would be the easing of heavy traffic on Sri Lanka’s generally-congested roads. For example a part-time driver partner can pick up a passenger or executive with similar mobility needs as himself or herself,” commented PickMe Chief Operating Officer Isira Perera.

Drivers can download the PickMe ‘Self-Registration’ app from any Android market free-of-charge to any mobile device operating on Android 4.5 with a minimum RAM of 2.5GB.

Aptly called ‘Tuk-Tik-Tok’, the app comes with a simple set of instructions presented in all 3-languages. Self-explanatory, the app allows the driver partners to upload all documentation necessary for registration such as the driver’s license, revenue license and ID photographs required for registration. Driver partners can start operating PickMe rides within just one hour of successful submission.
