A 20-member delegation from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) held a very fruitful and cordial meeting with the Ceylon Motor Traders’ Association (CMTA) last week.
SIAM is the apex industry body representing leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India while the CMTA represent the manufacturers of the global brands of automobiles and motor bicycles. SIAM has a long history of close working collaboration with the CMTA.
Welcoming the delegation, CMTA Chairman Sheran Fernando stated that over 70% of local vehicle registrations were made up of Indian-made products and underlined the Association’s resolve to work together towards their mutual benefit. The delegation discussed a wide range of issues relating to developing their business relationships in Sri Lanka especially with the CMTA.
