An exclusive gathering was organised by SyTrans at the River Face Hotel, Rajagiriya on 15 October, as an occasion to express appreciation for the existing registered truck fleet owners and to introduce the system to potential transporters of the company. The successful event also consisted of individuals such as veteran cricketer, Mahela Jayawardane who is a partner of VirTrans Capital Ltd., the holding company of SyTrans.

SyTrans is a software platform which aims to simplify and facilitate transactions between customers and truck suppliers. Their comprehensive platform consists of a diverse range of trucks which are accessible to the potential customer by way of their web or mobile app which would be available all year around, at any time of the day.

It is a dynamic communication platform which provides real time tracking, improves the visibly and accessibility for the customer and the supplier, making SyTrans both a consistently available and a reliable intermediary.

The invitees indeed celebrated the occasion as this diverse range of vehicle suppliers engaged in conversation regarding the unique exposure of their rare business of choice that often experiences adversities. It was agreed that the importance of their contributions as a community is usually undermined and unappreciated in general, due to the fact that no system of formality presently exists between the customer and the supplier.

The ultimate purpose behind SyTrans, while reducing the communicative gap that exists between customers and truck suppliers, is to reduce the present cost of logistics, which is undeniably higher than the global benchmark of 10%.

Through its newly developed platform, SyTrans estimates a significant improvement in efficiency in the trucking industry, as a result of which there would be a reduction of the somewhat of a premium the locals currently pay for most products due to the presently elevated cost of logistics.  SyTransChief Ope-rating Officer Samantha Bombuwalage expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support that SyTrans has received by the truck suppliers from its inception. He openly invited the truck fleet owners in Sri Lanka to join hands with SyTrans in order to elevate their business to the next level which would in turn add value to the community as a whole.  This concept initiated by SyTrans is assured to benefit the suppliers with a fixed form of regular clientele and with an improved appreciation for their services. Although unusual for a tech company to form a gathering as such for its vehicle suppliers, as anticipated, the event did motivate the existing and the potential suppliers to join hands in order to elevate this platform to the next level.

Therefore, the invitees did seem grateful for this opportunity offered by SyTrans, which would not only vastly improve and expand their careers as suppliers but also in turn benefit the nation’s logistics and the economy as a whole.
