YOUCAB, the latest entrant to the e-taxi hailing market, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the All Island Association to Protect the Rights of Taxi Owners and Drivers (AIAPROD) on 16 May.
This event took place in the presence of YOUCAB partners Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara along with representatives of the AIAPROD at Elevate, Access Towers II.
AIAPROD was established on 3 June 2018 under the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 and is chaired by Charith Attanapola. It is a service organisation which was established solely to protect the rights and the well-being of the taxi industry service providers and their families. The association is empowered to make representations on behalf of its membership and the taxi industry as a whole.
The YOUCAB e-taxi hailing app is committed to adding value to the industry and empowering individual travel partners, who are literally, the wheels that the taxi industry rides on. The company strives to create value for the travel partner by changing the perception thrust upon them by society and ensuring that the travel partner also understands the importance of their service and contribution to the community. The company is diligently involved in taking great measures to enhance the mutual relationship between the passenger and the travel partner, thereby refining the experience of the service.
YOUCAB ensures that transparency, respect and dignity is being upheld in every step of the operation, and it is with this trust and confidence that AIAPROD signed an agreement with YOUCAB to work together with great understanding.
