AMW enters commercial vehicles sector

As one of the oldest entities in the field having completed over six decades of offering leading products and services, AMW now ventures into the commercial vehicles sector with its latest partnership.

AMW signed a partnership agreement with Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM), China recently to import and distribute their range of commercial vehicles to Sri Lanka. Renowned in China and in global markets, DFM is the producer of a full range of commercial and passenger vehicles, parts and auto equipment.

The company’s commercial vehicle division produces medium-heavy, heavy, mini and special-purpose modified vehicles for a variety of uses.

Launched in 1969, DFM represents the best in R&D with the largest automobile testing ground in China, which has made DFM China’s ‘most valued’ brand according to global brand value ranking. DFM is currently ranked 142 in the World’s Top 500 Enterprises listing.

AMW will initially market the Realling M and Captain models of medium-sized trucks to cater to the transport sector. The two models come with 2,271cc and 3,922cc engines respectively, with the Realling M available in body lengths of 10 and 14 feet, while the Captain is available in body lengths of 17 and 20 feet.

The Realling M has the latest Isuzu technology and German BOSCH systems coupled with on-board electronics to maximise fuel efficiency. The model also includes all comforts and the highest in safety standards.

The larger Captain model has a Cummings engine with four core technologies: turbo charge, intelligent electrical operation, a discharge treatment system and a filtration system as well. The model also sports active safety with an anti-lock braking system and a high efficiency transmission system.

These trucks serve a range of benefits to customers. For instance, corporate customers are able to make use of these trucks to transport their produce and to provide transport services to their other customers. Those who need specialised vehicles like recovery trucks, boom trucks, freezer trucks, garbage compactors, gully bowsers etc. are afforded a wider range of choices. Furthermore, customers who are particular about technology and sophistication can also purchase trucks with higher horse power which include a cabin interior resembling that of a Japanese truck.

In addition to these benefits, Donfeng also ensures that these trucks guarantee better fuel economy, higher horse power, an engine with Isuzu, Nissan and cummings technology and factory fitted AC units and audio setup.
