AMW, a corporate giant in Sri Lanka, hosted its second ‘Business Forum’ for the company’s pneumatic tyre distributors who distribute AMW brands of Epic Trimax, Powermax and Hi-Miler three wheeler tyres, Acemax 155x12 tyres, Epic Farmax 600x12 tyres and heavy duty tyre flaps island wide.
The two-day program (Business Forum – 2015) held at Mount Lavinia Hotel was graced by Pushpika Janadheera, Director – Manufacturing, AMW. Pneumatic tyre/RPD distributors of AMW’s participated with their families at this event.
‘The Business Forum’ shed light on innovative business strategies, tips to win over rivals and creating awareness of new products and services introduced by AMW. Significance of the program was the opportunity to personnel of AMW’s pneumatic tyre sales and marketing and production divisions to interact with the pneumatic tyre distributors. They discussed in length challenges faced by them in the distribution and selling process of pneumatic tyres, innovative means of promoting tyres, selling tactics and new trends in logistics and promotions.
Janadheera said participants at the ‘Business Forum’ comprise of a segment of people who are associating with a company that sheds light on innovation.
“This means success of your business as AMW authorised distributors is guaranteed. Our company intends to introduce more innovative products to the marketplace in the near future. We have already invested a vast sum of money towards introducing tyres with an exceptional standard. As a result we got the opportunity to export our tyres to over 15 foreign countries including Europe and USA. AMW three-wheeler tyre is one such product that we export. Some world renowned tyre producing companies get their three-wheeler tyres manufactures by us in AMW plant under their respective brand names. We have taken measures to enhance facilities offered to our distributors. Hence we invite you to be a strength to us on our quest for supremacy in the sphere.”
Nimal S. Ratnayake, Senior Manager-Sales and Marketing, AMW, expressing his views said AMW pneumatic tyre distributors contribute immensely towards success of the company. He said one major object of calling this ‘Business Forum’ was to appreciate their services.
“This ‘Business Forum’ opened new vistas in their distributing Endeavour. These distributing dealers were given the opportunity to interact with fellow AMW distributors, sales and marketing team and production people to aware and educate themselves more on the subject. Their success in the tyre distribution arena is of immense importance to our company. Hence we made them aware of new business tactics and encouraged their feedback. Officials in our production and sales sections discussed with each and every distributor on sales aspects, quality of products expected by the buyers and tyre dealers. The feedback was very impressive. We are happy that we could provide all distributors the opportunity to participate with their families away from their hectic routines to spend two days with enjoyment. Hence this business forum also enhanced cordial relationships between these AMW distributors and their families,” said Ratnayake.
Ranjan Kariyawasam, Senior Factory Manager, Pneumatic Tyre Section of AMW, said, “This forum is very fruitful since personnel in the company’s production section get the opportunity to have dialogue with our distributors on one-on-one basis. This paves way for exchange of ideas and the ultimate result will be offering a value added service to our customers. Views of our distribution agents are of utmost importance in this exercise.”
The AMW Pneumatic Tyre Department produces Epic Trimax, Epic Powermax, Hi-Miller Three-wheeler tyre brands and Epic Acemax 155x12, Epic Farmax 600x12, Solimax solid tyre brands.
AMW manufactures precured tyre brands Marathon DAG, Marathon Radial, Marathon High-Miler and OTR. Further the company has the know-how and ability to precure tyres to suit any rim size. AMW has the capability to rebuild tyres according to the traditional methods of Vacu-lug and Die-Hard.
AMW has two mammoth factories for tyre retreading in Kaluthara and Anuradhapura. All productions of AMW have ISO certifications and are in line with the standards set by ISO 9001-2008 and environment protection standards ISO 14001-2004.
