Associated Motorways (Pvt.) Ltd. (AMW) recently launched the new Suzuki Alto 2013 at a unique event in Colombo that attracted over 1,000 people to its showroom. The sole agents in Sri Lanka for Suzuki Alto for over 20 years conducted the event at its showroom in Colombo 8, allowing the public to view first-hand the brand new look of the company’s flagship model.

The new Suzuki Alto 2013 with its array of features is now available for a surprisingly competitive price tag of Rs. 1.98 million at all AMW Suzuki showrooms located in Colombo, Negombo, Kurunegala, Kandy, Matara, Ratnapura and Ampara.

The new Suzuki Alto 2013 is a complete model change from the previous popular version that can be seen on the roads of Sri Lanka. The car is manufactured using Japanese technology and has a host of new standard features which include rear sport spoiler, reverse sensors and power windows, radio CD mp3 player with USB port, three spoke steering wheel with a silver accent, with extra head, shoulder and leg room, added utility space, body coloured bumpers, six spoke wheel covers and internally adjustable outside mirrors with an upgraded gear box for smooth gear shifting.

It comes in six colour variants – Frost Blue, Superior White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Blazing Red and Torque Blue – with interior options of grey or brown. Under the hood, the car offers a 796cc engine that accelerates from 0 to 60kmph in only 6.4 seconds. The new model also gives best-in-class mileage of 22.74kmpl as certified by test agency under rule 115 CMVR.

Commenting on the brand new car, Group Managing Director of AMW Samantha Rajapaksa stated: “The launch of the new Suzuki Alto 2013 was a complete success. Not only did hundreds of people turn up to take a look at the new car, but we also received a lot of positive feedback on its new features. Suzuki is a leading global brand that has been the market leader in Sri Lanka for the past nine years, selling more than 50,000 cars across the island.”

He added: “This range of vehicles gained the highest market share in 2012, despite the intense competition in the under 1,000cc category. With the added improvements, the new Suzuki Alto 2013 will surely become the premium car in the under 1,000cc category.”

He further stated that all Suzuki automobiles are manufactured under the authority of Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan and conform to stringent international standards of safety and performance.

Elaborating further on the launch of the new Suzuki Alto 2013, General Manager for Suzuki and Maruti Virann De Zoysa said: “The new Suzuki Alto 2013 will be everything its predecessors were and much more. At the launch, we allowed the customers to take a test drive and get a first-hand driving experience. We conducted over 300 test drives over the weekend and secured close to 100 advance payments confirming the purchase of the car. This is a great success.

“In addition, we conducted various entertainment activities, including a quiz competition where we gave away cash prizes as well as vouchers for after sales services at AMW to the winners. As always, the Alto gives more benefits to the customers through the best features of the product, superior service available for the brand and the availability of genuine spare parts.”

“The Alto’s mass appeal to a significant number of consumers of all age categories will definitely allow it to continue as the trusted market leader in Sri Lanka. We also have a unique trade in option for our valued loyal customers, allowing all customers to upgrade their vehicle in our Suzuki showrooms located in Colombo, Negombo, Kurunegala, Kandy, Matara, Ratnapura and Ampara. AMW’s superior after sales services are available at Rajagiriya/Kitulwatta and at 36 authorised dealers island-wide,” he further stated.

AMW is the current leader in the motor industry in Sri Lanka, representing established international brands such as Nissan, Suzuki and Suzuki Maruti and a diverse range of automotive services. With over 60 years of experience in the transport industry and operating in partnership with UAE-based global conglomerate the Al-Futtaim Group, AMW is also one of the leading multinational automotive groups in Sri Lanka.
