AMW recognises top 100 tyre retreading dealers in Western Province

Associated Motorways (AMW) leading automobile and tyre manufacturing company in Sri Lanka held Top 100 Regional Dealer Convention 2014 and award ceremony at Solis hotel Pitakotte to recognise AMW’s precured tyre dealers of the Western Province. 

The occasion graced by AMW Director – Manufacturing Pushpika Janadheera, saw participation of leading tyre retreading dealers of AMW and a gamut of customers who obtain products and services from AMW’s mammoth tyre manufacturing factory at Kalutara.

The best performing precure tyre dealers in the Western Province who sold highest volumes of precured tyre brands Marathon DAG, Marathon Radial, Marathon High-Miler, OTR and a DAG in 2014 were recognised at the event. Kusum Tyre Traders, Kelaniya became the best regional sales dealer. Second and third places were secured by Nimal Tyre Works, Ja Ela and Ananda Tyre Centre, Kalagedihena. All Top-100 dealers were presented with AMW Business Excellence awards and valuable gifts.

AMW Senior Manager Sales and Marketing Nimal S. Ratnayake addressing the Western Province Top-100 Dealer Convention 2014 said development of tyre retreading dealers is directly linked with the development of AMW.

“We welcome you with much respect and gratitude for supporting AMW in 2014 by engaging in an excellent sales drive. Year on year AMW enhances its sales records and we increase benefits to tyre dealers while engaging in diversification our products and services to emerging business segments. AMW precured tyre brands has become one of the best precured tyres presently sold in the marketplace. Demand for our conventional tyres/ off the road tyres too has increased. With the object of making our precured tyre brands to be the best in Sri Lanka, AMW has recently launched various innovative awareness programs across the county. We have enhanced our product range and recently Marathon Radial tyre with higher mileage at competitive price, ideal for all light and heavy trucks was introduced,” he said.

AMW Director – Manufacturing Pushpika Janadheera, Chief Guest of the event said, “AMW has taken measures to maintain highest standards of its precured tyres throughout production processes. Our aim is to give the best product to our customers. Now tyre manufacturers and tyre dealers in Sri Lanka are benchmarking with AMW standards. We also recently have embarked on ambitious project on establishing new tyre retreading manufacturing plants in the country. AMW is dedicated to keep its precured tyre brands as top products in the marketplace. AMW took some initiatives lately to enhance our tyre export capacity to Europe, Middle East and USA. I pay my gratitude for all Top-100 tyre dealers for being present here to strengthen our team spirit.”

AMW was commissioned in 1949 and it pioneered tyre retreading in Sri Lanka. The company has made emphasis on production and service parameters. AMW supplies locally, vehicle brands; Nissan, Suzuki, Suzuki Maruti, Yamaha, Piagio, New Holland and Dong Feng and spare parts and services for those brands. Further AMW imports and distributes BP, Castrol, Epic truck tyres and batteries. AMW is the proud owner of the Capital Leasing Company.  Tyre retreading is a major segment in AMW’s business. 

AMW has two mammoth tyre retreading factories in Kalutara and Anuradhapura and the regional distribution centre is at Kandy. All productions of AMW have ISO certifications and are in line with the standards set by ISO 9001-2008 and environmental management standards ISO 14001-2004.
