AMW Top 30 Retreading Dealer Convention 2013

Associated Motorways (AMW) a corporate leader in Sri Lanka held its annual Top 30 Dealer Convention of the Retreading Tyre Sector recently at the Mt Lavinia hotel. The object of this two-day event was to recognise the best thirty retreading tyre dealers of the AMW team in 2013. The event was graced by AMW Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapakse and the company’s directors. From nearly a team of 1,000 dealers, 30 got the opportunity to participate at the event ‘Top 30 Retreading Dealer Convention’ with their families. The theme of the event was, ‘Api Ekata – We are One’. Gamini Lokubalasuriya (Gamini Tyre Traders – Gampaha) clinched the award for the best Retreading Tyre dealer for 2013. Second and third places were secured by Kithsiri Bandara (Supiri Tyre House, Kandy) and Shantha Pathmatilleke (Shanika Tyre House, Weeraketiya) respectively. They were intimated with awards, accolades with valuable gifts, cash prizes and foreign trips. AMW Senior Manager sales and marketing Nimal S. Ratnayake addressing the award winners, their families and the top management of the AMW said, 2013 has been a very special year for the AMW due to numerous reasons. “Our Tyre Retreading Sector recorded a remarkable sales growth in 2013 and thereby our market-share increased sizably. In 2013 AMW has introduced new products to its product-mix. In addition we were able to launch an innovative sales promotional campaign in the same year which has contributed towards the increase of Tyre Retreading sales,” said Ratnayake. He further said, another step forward was commissioning a Regional Distribution Center at Kandy and new OTR tyre repair factory at Kalutara to meet increasing market demand and to provide customers a better and prompt service. Ratnayake called all dealers and all at the AMW to join hands to further strengthen its growing demand for its products and services in 2014 under the theme, ‘Api Ekata – We are One.’ Ratnayake in his speech also observed, in 2013 through 15 Distributors AMW has promoted Epic Trimax three wheeler tyres and Farmax 600x12 tractor tyres. According to him sales of those are gaining momentum rapidly now. He elaborated on promotional tools being used for the Solimax ‘Solid Tyre’ section for domestic market in his speech. AMW Director Manufacturing Pushpika Janadheera said AMWs annual dealer convention and dealer’s family get-together is one event that all tyre sales agents look forward to with much anticipation. Reason for that being this convention opens doors for tyre sales agents to meet up and enjoy with their families once a year. “Thus we bring freshness to this event each year by giving it more colour of entertainment. These tyre agents have dedication. Their dedication has resulted in this tremendous increase in sales of Retreading tyres.  AMW will enhance and expand its services in the near future and more families of tyre agents will participate to this annual awards presentation event then,” said Janadheera. AMW Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapakse who was the chief guest said he is proud to be associated with the Retreading tyre dealers and their families at least once a year in this manner. He said these sales agents add immense muscle to the AMW operations through their sales. “This goodwill and relationship will go a long way,” observed Rajapakse. AMW manufactures retreading tyre brands Marathon DAG, Marathon Radial, Marathon High-Miler, OTR and a-DAG. Further the company has the know-how and ability to retread tyres for any rim-size. AMW is the only company in Sri Lanka which has the capability to retread tyres thuru a specialized manufacturing process of Vacu-lug and Die-Hard. AMW has two mammoth factories to retread tyres in Kaluthara and Anuradhapura. All productions of AMW have certifications and are in line with the standards set by ISO 9001-2008 and environment protection standards ISO 14001-2004.
