Asian Alliance Insu-rance PLC (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) last week with the objective of adding value to their customers and members.

While identifying the partnership as an ideal platform to bring benefits to both the associations and their clientele, with the MOU the members of AAC are entitled to exclusive discounts on their Asian Alliance motor insurance premiums.

At the MOU signing event AAC President Dhammika Attygalle said: “The initiative made is a value addition to AAC members, which would provide attractive discounts on motor insurance premium. With this our membership could experience speedy claim settlements as well.”

Incorporating convenience to the value proposition, the insurance cover could be obtained through the AAI branches which are located island-wide. In addition to the newly-offered benefit to the AAC membership, other services extended include 24-hour road breakdown service, technical assistance, towing facilities, issuing of vehicle valuation reports, and issuing of international driving permits and many others which ties well with the full service proposition.

Addressing the media at the event, AAI Director/CEO Ramal Jasinghe stated that the tie-up would certainly add value to the professional and personalised services extended to the membership.

“We are indeed privileged and pleased to partner with AAC on our new avenues of insurance which would cater to the changing preference of the AAC membership,” he said. Attygalle added that the AAC is confident AAI would undoubtedly take care of its members in their time of need following the landmark event.

On signing the MOU, both associations are of the opinion that the tie-up would be the stepping stone to a long-term relationship of likeminded efforts to promote safe, responsible and hassle free motoring by providing high quality services in the future through AAI and the AAC partnership.

AAC, established in 1904, is renowned as the voice of Sri Lankan motorists and was adjudged the winner in the National Business Excellence Awards 2010 conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce. AAI, sharing a similar success image to AAC, was established in 1999 and is recognised as a leading player in the insurance industry of Sri Lanka and further strengthened its credentials after it was acquired by the giant diversified conglomerate Softlogic Group, which is noted to be one of Sri Lanka’s corporate success stories. AAI successfully extends tailor-made insurance solutions to its clientele that consists of both corporate and individual clients.
