Bartleet Finance and TVS Lanka Ltd. yesterday launched ‘Kirilli’ a leasing facility to meet the transport needs of women in the country.
The Kirilli leasing facility provides women with an opportunity to lease a TVS scooter and obtain greater accessibility for travel. The leasing package is designed specifically to cater to the needs of Sri Lankan women.
Bartleet Finance General Manager Sampath Nishantha stated ‘Ladies don’t have specialised facilities in Sri Lanka for leasing and hire purposes; this leasing package is unique and specifically for women. This particular leasing concept is at its initial stages. We will begin by launching the Kirilli lease for women, however a further 2-3 leasing packages of a similar nature, will follow shortly.’
TVS Lanka Chief Executive Officer Sampath Agalawatta stated ‘51% of our population comprises ladies. TVS is a fully owned joint venture of united motors and is a fast growing two wheeler company, we are very happy to partake in this joint promotion with Bartleet Finance.’
The Kirilli lease will be applicable across the entire range of TVS scooters and will operate on an 80% lease payment scheme over the duration of 3 years, with an interest rate of approximately 20%.
The launch ended with the first three leases being handed over to three women selected by Bartleet Finance and TVS Lanka. The lease facility is one of the first of its kind in Sri Lanka. Each lease must be taken out under a woman’s name and caters completely to the needs and requirements of the Sri Lankan woman. According to Bartleet Finance, the main motive behind the lease is to ‘empower free and ambitious Sri Lankan women’. By creating a lease package that will enable women to travel with greater ease, safety and flexibility, the Kirilli lease is one that is well designed to meet the everyday needs of many Sri Lankan women.
