Over 100 British-made classic cars participated in the rally to celebrate British Car Day in Sri Lanka.      The Classic Car Club of Ceylon together with Land Rover conducted the ‘British Car Day’ last weekend. The event started at 8 a.m. from the picturesque Town Hall premises and attracted close to 100 classic British automobiles. The vehicles, which belong to well-known enthusiasts, were showcased at the venue before they commenced on a parade route through the heart of Colombo. The parade, which was a sight to behold, ended at the Kingsbury Hotel where all the members were treated to a British themed brunch which was hosted by the Classic Car Club of Ceylon and Land Rover. Land Rover made a mark on the event by having a vintage Series 1 Defender as the lead vehicle, which British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka John Rankin, was travelling in as the Guest of Honour. Land Rover also displayed its latest range of high-end vehicles at the event ranging from the Range Rover Sport, to the ever-popular Evoque.
