Sri Lanka’s leading tyre maker CEAT Kelani Sri Lanka is now casting its tread across cyberspace, following the launch of a new website with a fresh, user-friendly approach that goes beyond providing information about the company and its products.

The new website at www.ceatsrilanka.com offers visitors a comprehensive look at not just the company, but the whole business of manufacturing, selling and even using tyres, providing an information resource that can be useful to consumers interested in the subject.  The website was developed using extensive consumer and stakeholder inputs from both domestic and international markets to cater to their wider expectations and needs.

Besides the to-be-expected ‘About us’ and ‘Tyre Range’ tabs, the new website offers another tab that offers tyre tips and a comprehensive guide on tyre safety covering tyre inflation, tyre wear, tread depth, wheel balancing and alignment, tyre rotation and repair, tyre replacement and upsizing. The website also has a listing of all the CEAT Dealers in its Dealer Locator feature.

Other tabs provide information about the company’s exports, customer service and its many involvements with the community through sponsorship of sporting events and CSR projects. Visitors may also submit queries or complaints, via a dedicated tab.

For the history buff, the website proffers a little known but interesting fact – that CEAT, a global tyre brand now headquartered in India, is an acronym that stands for Cavi Electrici Affini Torino, or Electrical Cables & Allied Products of Turin, and that its origins date back to 1924 in Italy.

Mr Paras K. Chowdhary, Senior Management Advisor CEAT India and Mr. Chanaka De Silva, Chairman CEAT Kelani Holdings, formally launched the web site in the presence of Mr. Anant Goenka, MD CEAT India and senior officials of the management team. Mr. Chowdhary said that “this will be a great platform for us to take CEAT- Kelani Holdings and its products and service to the world. We have been in Sri Lanka and have conquered the hearts and minds of the consumers with these products and services. It is time that we showcase them to the global markets.”

“There is very much more to CEAT than simply making and selling tyres,” said Raman Rajagopalan, Managing Director/CEO of CEAT Kelani Holdings. “Our new website is intended to bring in a fresh look to the service we provide as well as an insight into who we are, our expertise and our engagement with the industry as well as the people of Sri Lanka.”

A National Business Excellence Award winner in 2010, 2011 and 2012, CEAT – Kelani Holdings is a very successful Indo-Sri Lanka joint venture between the RPG Group of India and Kelani Tyre – Sri Lanka. The company operates three manufacturing units manufacturing truck, light truck, radial, motorcycle, three-wheeler and agricultural tyres and employs a workforce of 1000 people. It achieved domestic sales in excess of Rs 7 billion in 2013 and exports of Rs 3 billion, and is the market leader in Sri Lanka for commercial vehicle tyres, radials and three-wheeler tyres.
