Chery Tiggo enters North Western Province

The new Cherry Tiggo, a masterpiece from Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., the largest passenger car exporter in China, was launched in the North Western Province at a ceremony held in Kurunegala recently. The first Chery Tiggo SUV in the North Western Province was sold by the IDEAL Chery Dealer Sangeetha Enterprise in Kurunegala and delivered from the Ideal Regional Service Centre in Kurunegala after conclusion of the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). The Cherry Tiggo is an exceptional vehicle in its class sporting a fuel efficient 1.6 litre petrol engine with good power-to-weight ratio, coupled with a 7-Speed CVT automatic transmission.  The Tiggo’s exceptional drive train reliability and a well engineered independent suspension offers the driver excellent handling characteristics.   The Cherry Tiggo is also fitted with Dual Air Bags, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Cruise Control, Engine Immobiliser & Remote key, Factory fitted Reverse Sensors, LED Front and Tail lights along with daytime running lights. The Tiggo is also a family vehicle with lots of space inside for passengers as well as baggage and offers exceptional ground clearance and wading depth making it perform in a dual role as a cross country traveler. The Chery Tiggo reaches Sri Lanka from Cherry’s Australian production line situated in Chery’s main production facility in Wuhu, China. Therefore, the Tiggo is compliant with Australian Design Rules (ADR) for Safety, Fuel Economy, Emissions and Anti-Theft. Ideal Chery Automobiles Ltd Chief Operating Officer Chamath Tennekoon stated that there is a very good response to the Tiggo from all parts of the island and that the first stock of vehicles has been sold out prior to arrival of the next consignment, which Ideal Chery is currently taking orders for. German carmaker Daimler’s new Smart Fortwo car is seen on display during its world premiere in Berlin 16 July. Daimler is betting that cooperation with Renault and the launch of models to tap growing demand for city cars may pave the way for its diminutive Smart brand to become profitable. Smart will add a new four-seater model to its lineup this year and upgrade the two-passenger Fortwo vehicle, raising hopes by the German group of boosting the brand’s flagging sales. REUTERS
