The Seylan Colombo Motor Show 2015, arguably the largest and most prestigious international automotive event in Sri Lanka, wowed auto enthusiasts at the BMICH.

The pioneers in the Sri Lankan automotive industry, David Pieris Motor Company Ltd. (DPMC) made their presence felt during this mega event which attracted large crowds from 20 to 23 August. Those who visited the DPMC stall at the Colombo Motor Show were in for a treat as they had the newest products on display. These included two of their revolutionary motorcycles which were recently introduced to the Sri Lankan bike lovers: the all-new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and AS150.

Bajaj Pulsar, known for its performance, technology and design, has re-defined Sri Lanka’s sports bike market with the launch of these new-generation Pulsar motorcycles which leave their mark in terms of contemporary design, superior technology and class leading features.

Pulsar RS200 is defined as the Performance Biking Machine and this much-awaited super sports bike belongs to the Race Sports genre, designed for speed and performance. Powered by the world’s first Triple Spark 4-Valve DTS-i engine which gives a power of 24.5 PS, this monster is packed with 40% more power than that of other leading super sports bikes.

Pulsar AS150 is designed to make riding an adventure. Bajaj’s Twin Spark 4-Valve DTS-i engine gives 17 PS of thumping power which makes it the most powerful 150cc bike. The AS150 comes with a 5-speed gear box while the RS200 possesses a 6-speed gear box, giving the best response across the rpm band to both of these stylish power horses.

Apart from these prized exhibits, those who visited the DPMC stall were able to take a closer look at a Cadet Kart, custom-built for young racing enthusiasts between the ages of seven to 11. Go-karting is the ideal starting point for those who are dreaming of becoming the next Lewis Hamilton or Jenson Button. Going by the very enthusiastic response received from the young ones, it seems that the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit at Bandaragama is the place to visit.
