DIMO introduces the new DIMO Batta Ex2

Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) together with Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile company, recently launched the new DIMO Batta Ex2 in Sri Lanka at an impressive ceremony held at Park Street Mews. DIMO Batta was conceptualised by TATA Motors based on research done in Sri Lanka a few years back and the product was launched in India in May 2005. This new vehicle revolutionised the transportation of goods in India, selling 100,000 units in just 20 months, making history in the Indian transportation industry. TATA Ace has managed to revolutionise the way that goods are being moved in India. In 2006, DIMO introduced the TATA Ace to the Sri Lankan market, rebranding it as DIMO Batta. DIMO Batta helped customers become entrepreneurs in their own right. Employees became employers. It has a sleek exterior look with stylish clear lens headlamps. The metallic paint and body coloured bumpers make the vehicle stand out on the road. The new low effort steering system and mobile charging point allows a long and comfortable drive. There are a host of other features that have added value to customers of this vehicle that is powered by a reliable two cylinder engine coupled with five speed gearbox and comes with 13 inch tires. Tata Motors offers further comfort to passengers by increasing the warranty on this vehicle to two years or 60,000 kilometres. The success of DIMO Batta is evident with more than 40,000 vehicles on Sri Lankan roads. Post-war Sri Lanka has seen a surge in this small commercial vehicle market with volumes averaging 1,000+ units per month. DIMO Batta also became part of a variety of Government schemes aimed at uplifting the life of the people of Sri Lanka. In addition, the introduction of DIMO Batti and TATA Super Ace has allowed DIMO to extend the superiority and the leadership in the smaller commercial vehicle market in Sri Lanka by offering a wider choice. This range has sold 50,000 units in Sri Lanka, the largest by a single brand in the country. DIMO is the only authorised representative in Sri Lanka for TATA’s commercial and passenger vehicles. DIMO has an extensive network of 38 touch points across the country from Matara to Jaffna and from Akkaraipattu to Puttalam. This allows DIMO to provide excellent after sales service to all TATA customers. A state-of-the-art workshop facility at Siyambalape, supported by DIMO owned service and repair facilities at Kandy, Anuradhapura, Matara and Kurunegala allow customers to maintain their vehicles better and seek faster solutions.
