Exide earns top spot at Sigiriya Rallycross 2014

Team Exide from Brown & Co. PLC kick started the 2014 motor racing calendar with a colourful performance at the Sigiriya Rallycross held recently. The team of riders and drivers ruled the track and walked away with many wins including the team championship.

The Exide Racing Team which is a fully equipped motor racing team, emerged victorious in all most all the events and ended the rally with 9 trophies. The outstanding performance of champion riders Shehan C. Adikari, Lahiru Jeewantha and Sampath Kumara contributed greatly to Exide Racing Team’s championship award. The team’s young riders Shehan and Lahiru both created quite a stir with their daring racing skills. Shehan carried the Exide flag to the forefront beating other local and international riders in both the Group MX - Motocross Bikes up to 125 (2T & 4T) open and race 2 of the Group MX - Motocross Bikes up to 125cc (2T) and up to 250 cc (4T) event. Meanwhile, Lahiru was placed first in the Group M -STD/MOD Street Trail up to 250 cc (2T and 4T) race and second in the Group M -STD /MOD Street Trail up to 250 cc (2T and 4T) Race 1. In the race where Lahiru was placed first, Team Exide member Sampath rode in to take second place. Sigiriya Rallycross 2014 the SL-GT – Cars upto 3500 cc – Race 1, Aravinda’s second place finish was also vital for Exide Racing Team to be in the frame of champion. Meanwhile, Nadeera Jinasena also performed exceptionally well in the Group SL - H Cars up to 1600 cc - Race 1 and Group SL - H Cars up to 1600 cc - Race 2, taking third place in both races.
