Exide recognised for business excellence at SLSI National Quality Awards 2015

The manufacturing arm of Exide Lead Acid batteries, Associated Battery Manufacturers (Ceylon) Ltd. (ABM), was awarded the Merit Certification in the medium sector manufacturing category at the SLSI National Quality Awards held at the BMICH recently.

The National Quality Awards is an annual event organised by Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) to reward and recognise business excellence of Sri Lankan organisations. The selection and quality excellence is determined according to the world renowned Malcolm Baldrige model and is judged by a panel of judges consisting of industry experts and business leaders, covering seven key areas such as Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Focus, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Workforce Engagement, Operational Focus and Results.

ABM, an associate company of Brown & Company PLC, is the largest Lead Acid starter battery manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka, producing Exide, Lucas and Dagenite branded batteries. Brown & Company PLC (Browns) is the sole distributor for Fully Loaded Exide Batteries in Sri Lanka.

This accolade further emphasises the market leadership role Fully Loaded Exide plays in the Sri Lankan automotive battery market.
