The much-praised Hyundai Eon has been launched in Sri Lanka by Hyundai Lanka Ltd. This unique car comes with a modern fluidic design, great fuel efficiency and comfort. It is spacious and performs well on the road, making it ideal for practical purposes. “The main attraction of the Eon is the value for money it offers. It is affordable and yet comes packed with a host of modern features,” said Hyundai Lanka Ltd. General Manager – Sales and Marketing Prasan De Silva. The car is powered by a high-performance and fuel-efficient 56PS, 814 cc three-cylinder petrol engine. Its attractive exterior is complemented by an ergonomic interior. Other notable features include tilt steering, 215 litre luggage space, built-in stereo with extended radio frequency range with MP3/AUX/USB in and front power windows. The electric power steering of the Eon improves fuel efficiency by not having a hydraulic pump that strains the engine power. Its shift light also improves fuel efficiency by indicating the ideal time to shift gears. The vehicle is also known for its low fuel consumption. While the manufacturer claims an average fuel consumption of 21.1 kms per litre, Hyundai Lanka officials assume, given Sri Lankan road and driving conditions that it would run 18 km per litre in the outstations and 14.5 km in Colombo City. The Eon comes with a warranty of three years or 100,000 km. Hyundai Lanka also offers leasing facilities to buyers through their official tie-up with financial partners HNB, CLC, LB, CDB and NTB. Prospective customers can test-drive the vehicle at their branch in Colombo and sales centres at Matara, Kandy, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Ratnapura and Akkaraipattu.
