Kia’s 2016 Picanto launched in Colombo

Untitled-3Kia’s ‘small car all grown up’ – the redesigned new generation Picanto which first arrived in Sri Lanka more than four years ago, has returned in its 2016 version with improved performance, a ‘facelift,’ new wheel designs and exciting new colours.

The new Picanto represents a refinement of the revolutionary motoring design and superlative performance that excited compact car enthusiasts when it was first launched, Kia’s sole local distributor, Kia Motors Ltd., said. 

Powered by a one litre (998cc) Gasoline Inline three-cylinder engine, the zippy five-door Kia Picanto is available in with six optional packages, starting from the five-speed manual to the four-speed automatic transmission and the high-end sports package, with prices ranging from Rs. 2.44 million to Rs. 3.33 million, the company said.

The model’s characteristic stand-out styling that exudes solidity and maturity has been backed up with advanced safety features including dual airbags and anti-lock brake system (ABS), eco-friendly technology and an array of class-leading personalised options.

The Picanto experience can be customised further with a choice of striking interior packages and 10 body colours, Bright Silver, Alice Blue, Cherry Pink, Clear White, Dazzling Blue, Midnight Black, Honey Bee, Milky Beige, Signal Red and Titanium Silver. Customers also have a choice of 13” or 14” steel wheels.

“The blend of form and functionality redefines the compact car segment, and excellent design delivers a roomy interior that can accommodate five adults with ease.” The new Picanto’s interior design features a rear seat back that can be fully folded, providing users with flexibility when additional storage space is required.

For the convenience of occupants, a range of standard features including high-tech options are available in the new Picanto. These include iPod AUX and USB connectivity, motor driven power steering and tilt steering system, an audio system with a radio and CD player and a security indicator.

In the sphere of eco-friendliness, the new Picanto has been certified with an Environmental Certificate by TÜV Nord, an independent technical inspection organisation and has received ISO 14040 Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), as have Kia’s new Rio and Optima.As with all cars sold by Kia Motors (Lanka), the new Picanto is backed by a three-year/100,000 km warranty.

Kia Motors has represented the Kia brand in Sri Lanka since 1996.
