LAUGFS Lubricants Ltd. (LLL), a subsidiary of LAUGFS Holdings Limited, honoured its lubricant distributors and dealers with awards for their great performance in 2011.
LAUGFS Lubricants Chairman W.K.H. Wegapitiya said that LAUGFS Lubricants was the only Sri Lankan company to get international standard certificates and an endorsement certificate from Daimler Mercedes Benz of Germany.

“We are the first Sri Lankan company to enter into the lubricant industry in Sri Lanka and now after completion of three years in the industry, we are now geared to enter into the next level of our operations – that is to start up our own blending facility in the country, he said.
The Chairman also said that Sri Lanka was now heading into a new era of development and Sri Lankan businesses were poised to grow into greater levels. Where the lubricant industry is concerned, the registration of motor vehicles is also increasing drastically.
“Every half an hour there is a new motorcycle on the streets and it is the same with motor vehicles. This is mainly due to the new economic prosperity taking place in the country. We see great potential in the Sri Lankan economy. In terms of being the only Sri Lankan company in the lubricant industry, we also see a great potential in it,” he said.
LAUGFS Lubricants Managing Director U.K. Thilak De Silva addressing the ceremony said that today LAUGFS brand had become a household name among the Sri Lankan general public.
“As a Sri Lankan company we have brought honour to Sri Lankans in terms of our presence of our brand in every sector in Sri Lanka. During this year we hope to introduce many changes in our operations and we are planning to set up our own blending plant at Hambantota Port in order to offer good quality for a range of products for the Sri Lankan market and the export market. Accordingly we are in a better position to produce the whole range of products at our facility.”
He also expressed his gratitude to all the distributors and dealers for being with LAUGFS from day one and said that the future was very positive in terms of industry growth and market growth.
LAUGFS Lubricants CEO Nalaka Madugalle speaking at the ceremony thanked distributors and dealers for their excellent performance and commitment towards the LAUGFS brand.
“This year we have many plans, including the commencement of the blending plant and introduction of more products under the LAUGFS brand name. Currently we are in the process of obtaining the Sri Lanka Standard Certificate (SLS) for LAUGFS lubricant products. With this we are aggressively looking forward to increasing our market share and even making our products available in the region.”
