Manufacturing management students visit Toyota and Nissan factories in Thailand

A group of students following the Masters in Manufacturing Management program at the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Colombo, visited Toyota and Nissan factories in Thailand during the first week of March to obtain a critical insight as to how two world class manufacturers conduct their day-to-day manufacturing operations and strategise for the future.

The students who participated in these study tours were senior or middle level managers working in Sri Lankan manufacturing organisations, and this course, which first commenced in 2004, has inculcated in them the skills necessary to take strategic decisions in the manufacturing sector.
