Maps International enters tyre inner flap market

Maps International Ltd engaged in vehicle tyres, tyre retreading, electrical goods and building materials recently embarked on manufacturing and distribution of tyre inner-flaps.

The newest venture of the company kick started at its state-of-the-art factory at Watareka, Panaluwa FTZ with the introduction of the virgin in-house produce of Maps International tyre inner-flaps. Tyre inner-flap brands; ‘Maps’ and ‘Unicorn’ were introduced to the Sri Lankan market on this day at an auspicious time.



Tyre inner-flaps add a long lasting nature to vehicle tyres by minimising the friction between the tyre and the rim. 



Maps International Ltd Director Asanga Rathnayake speaking at the occasion said the company is currently geared with the capacity to produce one-third of the total monthly requirement of tyre inner flaps to the Sri Lankan market. 



“Significance of the tyre inner-flap produced in our factory is the world-class quality of it and this will surely bring a fresh experience for vehicle owners in our country. We benchmark with the newest technology in the world to produce ‘Maps’ and ‘Unicorn’ tyre inner-flap brands. Furthermore this newest production of tyre inner-flaps is a result of years of research carried out in regard to climatic conditions and conditions of the roads in our country with a view to producing the ideal tyre inner-flap for the local market. We are currently working on enhancing the capacity of our factory to increase the production volume by twice to facilitate venturing into the international market in 2016,” said Rathnayake.
