Associated Motorways Ltd. (AMW) gave away prizes to ‘Marathon Dag Supiri Chance 2’ promotional program winners. The awards ceremony was held at Eden Resort & Spa Hotel in Beruwela, headed by AMW group Managing Director Samantha Rajapakse.

The Marathon Dag Supiri Chance 2 promotion was conducted by the Tyre Retreading Factories of AMW. In a bid to offer more chances for tyre dealers to win prizes AMW has increased the number of prizes this year and encouraged a greater participation for the competition.

The first prize which was a Piaggio diesel three-wheeler was clinched by Palitha Edirisinghe, owner of Palitha Tyre House, Nittambuwa. 

The second and third prizes a Yamaha FZ motor cycle and a Yamaha YBR motor cycle were won by Priyantha Gunesekera, owner of Priyantha Tyre House, Wellampitiya and Madhushanka Dhanansuriya, owner of Dhanansuriya Tyre centre, Yogiyana. There was a fourth prize too this year which was a Yamaha RAY scooter. The scooter was won by H.T. Lionel owner of Lion Tyre House in Trincomalee.

The Marathon Dag Supiri Chance 2 promotion was held from 1 October 2014 to 31 March 2015 with the objective of recognising higher precure tyre sales volumes and untiring services rendered by tyre retreading dealers of AMW for the all precure tyre brands, Marathon Dag, Marathon Radial and Marathon Hi-Miler, to have an edge in the marketplace. 

In addition to four main prizes, return air tickets to Malaysia, Gold coins, Sony LED TVs and other consolation prizes were given away. 

Sales volumes of Marathon Dag the newest Dag tyre brand of AMW have surged since its launch. AMWs Tyre Retreading department recorded a remarkable sales growth of 30% in 2014 making AMW precure tyre brands to become very successful in the marketplace.  

AMW Senior Manager Sales and Marketing Nimal S. Ratnayake said, “Marathon Dag and other AME precure tyre brands have gained immense recognition in the marketplace within a short period. Because of the huge success marked by the Marathon Dag Supiri Chance campaign we conducted it for the second time this year. It paved way for us to recognise our cherished tyre dealers again. Resilient relationship between the AMW and its tyre dealers is the main reason for the product’s success in the marketplace.”

He added, “Throughout the year we conduct activities to cheer up our tyre dealers and their families. The Marathon Dag Supiri Chance 2 promotional program is one of those activities. We have more activities in store in the months to come, for the benefit of our tyre retreading dealers.”
