All-new Mazda6 Saloon wins 2013 CarBuyer ‘Best Large Family Car’ award
All-new Mazda6 Tourer wins 2013 CarBuyer ‘Best Estate Car’ award
Mazda’s fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology praised for its ‘incredible efficiency’
The all-new Mazda6 with its fuel-saving SKYACTIV technologies and ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ styling went on sale at the end of January and is already proving popular with Britain’s car buyers. Now, the experts at the CarBuyer website have selected the latest model from the Japanese brand to receive two awards; ‘Best Large Family Car’ for the Mazda6 Saloon and ‘Best Estate Car’ for the Mazda6 Tourer.
CarBuyer provides trusted car reviews and expert advice, concentrating on criteria which matter in the real world: performance, comfort, reliability, practicality, value for money and running costs, helping motorists decide which car to buy.
The 2013 CarBuyer award winners were decided by the website’s team of road testers who have driven every car currently on sale in the UK.
Revealing this year’s award winners, Editor-in-Chief, Steve Fowler commented: “The all-new Mazda6 has really taken the large family car sector by storm. As if its blend of style, quality and dynamism wasn’t enough, the use of clever SKYACTIV technologies mean it’s incredibly efficient too, whether you go for the Saloon or super-spacious Tourer.”
Both all-new Mazda6 models also won praise for their good looks, fun driving experience and impressive levels of standard equipment.
“Mazda is proud to have a well-regarded website, such as CarBuyer, acknowledge that our truly innovative fuel-saving SKYACTIV technologies have enabled us to produce two remarkably efficient new vehicles while retaining the fun-to-drive qualities which are typical core features of our brand,” said Mazda UK Managing Director Jeremy Thomson.
“Our dealers are reporting an overwhelmingly positive response from showroom visitors to the new Mazda6. Genuinely all-new in every area of their design and engineering, with fuel economy as high as 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 108g/km, without any sacrifice in performance, the new Mazda6 saloon and tourer are now on their way to rapidly becoming their class leaders during 2013,” adds Thomson.
Mazda’s 135 dealers across the UK are offering a choice of 36 all-new Mazda6 saloon and tourer models priced from £ 19,595 to £ 28,045 on-the-road (OTR). Six equipment levels (SE, SE-L and Sport, with or without Navigation) and four high-efficiency SKYACTIV diesel and petrol powertrains (from 145ps to 175ps) with six-speed automatic or manual transmissions are available.
Customers buying their all-new Mazda6 on PCP or Conditional Sale will be offered finance at Representative 5.9% APR (over a 24, 30, 36 or 42-month period with no deposit required) and a £ 500 Mazda deposit contribution with PCP finance. All current Mazda owners will also be entitled to a further £ 250 ‘loyalty saving’ off the OTR price and no part-exchange is required.
The all-new Mazda6 is the first mass-production Mazda model to be equipped with i-ELOOP, the company’s unique brake energy regeneration system. Fitted as standard to the majority of Mazda6 models, this innovative system helps boost fuel economy by recovering energy that would otherwise be lost.
