The new Ciaz from Suzuki is the latest luxury sedan offering to shake up the local market, with a combination of premium luxury and unmatched affordability. The Ciaz has already received positive reviews from Indian, Middle Eastern and Latin American markets, and is also set to be introduced in China in the coming months as well, making the Ciaz a truly global offering.
The Suzuki Ciaz (which stands for Comfort-Intelligence-Attitude-Zeal), is built on a brand new platform, which makes it the longest and widest in its class offering more legroom, headroom and shoulder room than any of its competitors. The interior sets new standards for luxury in this class, with such features as keyless push-button start, reverse camera and sensors, multifunction steering wheel, mood lighting and rear a/c vents. The premium black-and-beige leather interior theme, with luxurious wooden garnish and chrome accents looks chic and contemporary, whilst several active and passive safety features such as ABS with EBD and dual airbags are also available to add to safety.
Borrowing cues from European styling, the new Ciaz is tasteful, elegant and clutter-free. Straight lines impart a classy European tinge to the sedan. As an industry first, the projector headlamps are being offered as a standard feature across all trim levels of Ciaz. A strong shoulder line, running all along the length, lends dynamism and balance to the Ciaz. The signature Suzuki ‘S’ logo sits elegantly on the front chrome grille and on the sedan’s tail. Other notable styling cues include an ornamental door beltline, chic chrome door handles, front fog lamps, integrated turn indicators on the electrically foldable side mirrors, premium split tail lamps and chrome garnished trunk lid, all of which lend finesse to the Ciaz.
The Ciaz has already received critical acclaim in the Indian market, outselling its main competitors in the crowded market place. Since its launch in October 2014 the company has already sold 6,345 units, with a further 17,000 pre-booked cars waiting to be delivered. This success is of no surprise as the Ciaz returns best in class fuel economy with a mileage of 20.73 kmpl and is available in both manual and automatic variants
Speaking at the global debut of the Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said, “Ciaz has been designed keeping in mind aspirations of a mid-size premium sedan customer. A complete package, the Ciaz offers European styling, premium rich interiors and a host of upmarket features. The designers have paid special attention to ensure space, comfort and convenience for rear seat occupants as well. We are confident that Ciaz will be warmly received as the preferred upgrade by compact cars owners.”
Associated Motorways Ltd. is the sole agent for Suzuki in Sri Lanka. As with all Suzuki cars, the Ciaz is available island wide through Associated Motorways Ltd. and its branches. AMW offers several payment schemes, including trade in and leasing offers which is further enhanced by the strong network of authorised service agents and parts stockists island wide.
