Led by a futuristic vision, Motor Link Holdings has been spearheading the industry with technologically advanced vehicle maintenance professional solutions on par with developed markets by introducing pioneering and ground breaking technologies over its existence of 28 years.

Motor Link Holdings is an authorized agent for Alfa Romeo, Geely, Lamborghini, Micro and Ssang Yong. The company is also fully equipped to cater to prestigious brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes Benz and other exclusive European brands as well as Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi and other Asian brands, in an independent capacity.

Ravith Silva, Managing Director of Motor Link Holdings, explains, “To date, vehicle owners didn’t have the opportunity to re-paint their vehicles to their originally colour post a repair. It’s been a tedious task for automobile workshops and dealers to match the manufacturers colour for vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz with the commonly used chemical and solvent-based paint. As a fully independent automobile service outlet, we are happy to be the pioneers to introduce this much awaited technology to the automobile industry in Sri Lanka.”

Explaining further he said: “Water based paint further offers a more sustainable benefit to reduce the carbon-foot-print. There is a growing trend globally to reduce the use of chemical and solvent-based paint for environmental reasons and we felt Sri Lanka too should comply with this trend in order to preserve its nature whilst repeating the original process for a true repair. The launch of water-based paint for the first time ever in Sri Lanka is a testimonial to our commitment to the sustainable development of the country.

“Vehicle maintenance is a crucial need in today’s busy lifestyle and our professionally-trained technicians ensure that our customers’ vehicles are running in optimum shape. Many countries in the world are now switching over to water-based paint in the interests of reducing toxic chemicals in paint for vehicles. Water-based paints are made up of acrylic resins using water while regular paint uses solvents or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which are harmful when inhaled and released into the atmosphere. The benefits of water-based paints are multi-fold: they are environmentally friendly as they improve air quality by reducing solvent fumes and reducing health risks; enable lesser clear coat to even out the surface for the different layers; and are brighter than solvent-based paint, plus it is longer lasting.”
