Sri Lankan motor vehicle enthusiasts are in for a treat with the upcoming launch of the ‘Ceylon Motor Show 2017’, sponsored by Sri Lanka Insurance Motor Plus, the island’s largest platform for cutting edge and classic motor vehicles.

The Motor Show kicks into gear at 5 p.m. on 27 January 2017 at the BMICH. The show will run until 29 January 2017, opening its doors to droves of automobile enthusiasts between 9.30 a.m. and 11 p.m. over the weekend.

Serving as the island’s single largest showcase for top-of-the-line international automotive brands, the ‘Ceylon Motor Show 2017’ will feature a diverse range of cutting edge cars, SUVs, jeeps, motorbikes, vans and commercial vehicles in addition to a pristine selection of timeless classic cars that promise to once again be a popular fixture at this year’s show.

Jointly organised by The Ceylon Motor Traders Association and The Classic Car Club of Ceylon in partnership with Sri Lanka Insurance Motor Plus, the show is the only one of its kind in Sri Lanka to draw mass support and participation from across the automotive industry. From sports cars to luxury sedans to powerful jeeps and SUVs, this year’s show is anticipated to draw even larger and more enthusiastic crowds than its previous shows.

“Our Association has been organising the Ceylon Motor Show for several years now and we are extremely satisfied to see the continuous growth and progression that we can see year to year. The Ceylon Motor Show has quickly emerged as one of the most prestigious events in the industry and an invaluable space within which to showcase the best that the automotive industry has to offer,” said The Ceylon Motor Traders Association Chairman Reeza Rauf.

The Ceylon Motor Traders Association is an affiliated trade organisation of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce since 1919, and is made up of all the franchise holders representing leading global automotive brands.

While interest in the latest vehicle trends continues at an exponential pace, Sri Lanka’s classic car enthusiasts have also been rising to even greater prominence in recent years, with the Ceylon Motor Show 2017 serving as another landmark event on the Classic Car Club of Ceylon annual calendar.

“Our club has been extremely active in recent years and most recently celebrated its silver jubilee. As such, we hope to make an even greater contribution to the growing success of the Ceylon Motor Show by showcasing over 120 of Sri Lanka’s most rare and sought after classic cars, sourced from England, America, Germany, Italy, France and even Japan. We have absolute confidence in the success of the ‘Ceylon Motor Show 2017’ and we extend a warm welcome to our members,” CCCC President Ramani Ponnambalam enthused.
