Prestige Automobile launches MINI in Sri Lanka

Prestige Automobile Ltd (leading automobile importer in Sri Lanka) and MINI Asia on Wednesday officially launched MINI in Sri Lanka. The iconic car with rich British roots that is renowned for its driving fun and go-kart handling was first introduced in 1959. It has since undergone evolutionary refinement, with the new MINI undergoing vast improvement in terms of its driving fun, quality and comfort. Yet, the new MINI has managed to preserve the same go-kart handling and individual flair that made the brand so irresistible from the start. Prestige Automobile Ltd will be introducing two MINI models; the new-generation MINI as well as the MINI Countryman. “MINI is a small premium car that is packed with dynamism, As such, it is always looking to make its exciting products available to enthusiastic customers around the world,” said Prestige Automobile Ltd Director Gehan Siribaddena. “Prestige Automobiles is very proud to be appointed as the first official MINI importer in Sri Lanka. The new MINI Showroom is expected to be ready by 15 September and will be located at No 5 Castle Street, Colombo-08. The new MINI Designed to be bigger, to drive better, and packed with more technological innovation than before, the new MINI continues to be the leading original of the premium small car segment. For the first time both 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines are introduced, all featuring MINI Twin Power Turbo Technology. The petrol engines include turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable camshaft control on the intake and exhaust side (double VANOS).

The MINI Countryman This is the first four-door MINI with a body measuring more than four meters in length and comes with a large tailgate and a versatile interior offering space for up to five people. It can even be ordered with all-wheel drive. Incorporated in 1994, Prestige Automobile is a well-known importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in Sri Lanka.
