Richard Peiris Tyre top dealer awards 2012-2013 at Amaya Lake Dambulla

The Annual Dealer Award Ceremony of Richard Pieris Tyre Company was held recently at Amaya Lake, Dambulla, with Richard Pieris Company Group Director Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
This year, Richard Pieris Tyre invited the best 60 dealers and their families from a network of over 1300 dealers across the island including the Northern and Eastern provinces. This particular awards ceremony is regarded as the family get-together for tyre dealers around the island and is a much awaited function by the tyre distribution community. 50 dealers were selected from the dealer network that distribute ‘Arpidag’, ‘Arpico’ and ‘Arpi Radial’ manufactured in the company’s Nawinna, Kurunegala, Kandy, Weligama and Gampaha factories and 10 were selected from distributors of the imported Birla Tyres and Tubes (India).
At this award ceremony Richard Pieris Tyre introduced a few new categories including provincial awards for the retreading sector, brand excellence awards for Arpico Tyre, Arpidag, Arpi Radial, Birla Tyre and automotive battery brands and recognised the best sales personnel of the company as well. Foreign tours were awarded to the winners of the trading sector.
M. H. T. J. Shanthirathna of Shanthi Tyre Mart, Dikwella, Proprietor of Asiri Tyre Traders, Negombo H. M. Wasantha Kumara and W. A. W. W. Sisira Kumara of Sisira Tyre House, Rambukkana won the winner, runner-up and second runner up awards respectively in the retreading category. P. A. Sunil Pemarathne of Auto Tyreways – Anuradhapura and I. A. Karunathilaka of Hiruni Tyre House were the joint winners in the trading category whileT. Nandakumaran collected the award for the first runner up.
Speaking to the guests at the awards, Richard Pieris Tyre General Manager Pradeep Samarathunge said: “Our dealers always expect us to maintain the highest quality and a stable price to compete with the market. Respecting those expectations of our dealers and the end users of our products we always look for new developments and technology to offer the best product to the market. As the market leader we always thrive to keep our prices very competitive and maintain quality as well. Further we want to make sure that all our distributors receive ample stocks on time as is required right now.”
Richard Pieris Tyre Company was established in 1932 and in the year 1942 introduced tyre retreading to became the first retreading factory in Sri Lanka. After many successful years of growth the company partnered with Bandag Tyre Company in USA in 1991 and introduced Arpidag brand tyres which revolutionised the tyre market in the country. Richard Pieris Tyre Company sells over 50,000 tyres a month and is the market leader for retreaded tyres in Sri Lanka.
