Ford Motor Company held its annual Heritage Month celebration in June to honour the company’s 112 years of history and rich heritage.

This year’s Heritage Month is inspired by patriotic ads in pop art style from the US and pays tribute to Ford as a pioneer of the automobile industry and a continuous innovator for over a century.

“We’re proud to celebrate Heritage Month each year and recognise the numerous contributions that Ford Motor Company has made to the automotive industry throughout our company’s history,” said Ford Motor Company Asia Pacific Emerging Markets Managing Director David Westerman.

“From the first moving assembly line more than 100 years ago, to airbags that are now a standard safety feature in every vehicle, the auto industry today would look vastly different today without Ford’s passion for continuous innovation and technological breakthroughs.”

“This year’s Heritage Month theme was chosen to represent not only the vibrant heritage of Ford, but also the rich heritage and cultures of the places we do business,” added Westerman.

As part of the celebrations planned for Sri Lanka, Future Automobiles Ltd. in Battaramulla offered special sales and promotions that will include special 30% discount on selected vehicle models.

Also, Future Automobiles Ltd. in Battaramulla organised an anniversary event called Ford Heritage BBQ Evening with the guidance of Softlogic Holdings PLC Director Business Development Kevin Chang, Softlogic Automobiles Head of Sector Gihan Vitharana and Future Automobiles Ltd. Head of Sales Shanesh Ratnaweerage.

This special activity provided Ford customers and owners to know about the new Everest launch officially, win exciting prizes and to experience the heritage vehicles of Ford at the event.

Ford’s heritage

More than a century has passed since Henry Ford founded the company that would change history and ‘put the world on wheels’. From the first laminated window shields and driver airbags, to Ford’s EcoBoost engine series that delivers better fuel economy and more power, Ford has always been a pioneer in the automobile industry. Many of its vehicles, like the Ford Mustang, EcoSport compact SUV, and Ranger pick-up, have become iconic and are now deeply rooted in countries globally.

Ford in Sri Lanka

Ford’s heritage in Sri Lanka is almost as rich as the local automotive industry itself. With Ford entering the market in 2010, Sri Lankan customers have been quick to notice that Ford cars have set the standards in terms of safety, innovation, fuel efficiency and performance.

Today, Ford Sri Lanka has six nameplates available, with the latest addition being the New Everest. The company’s dealer network in Sri Lanka boasts Ford dealerships, as well as Quick Lane service centres, etc.

Like its storied heritage, Ford is constantly striving to provide quality services to customers in Sri Lanka and planning to bring down the New Everest 2015 end of this year. “Ford’s vision in Sri Lanka and all over the globe starts from its people: Valued customers and employees, suppliers, local communities and loyal Ford fans,” said Future Automobiles Ltd. – Subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC.

“We are proud to be a part of Ford’s global family and this month we honour Ford’s place in our history, our hearts and our future, and our shared commitment to provide customers with an even better ownership experience.”
