In addition to issuing International Driving License for driving when you travel overseas and organising welfare and recreational activities for its members, the Association today has expanded its services, to provide a host of other convenient and reliable value added services, under one roof. Spearheading the newphase of growth for AA Ceylon, President of the Association, Dhammika Attygalle stated, “We take pride in saying that AA Ceylon has been the voice of Sri Lankan motorists for the past 110 years. It has been our aim to move forward with the evolving trends of the motorists of our community. Since 2009, we have continuously worked towards upping the services and facilities offered to motorists registered with us. Today, we provide a diverse range of local and international services and benefits to our members.” Key among its new offerings is a 24-hour, 365-day road-side-assistance service specially developed for female motorists. Understanding a female driver’s need for safe and reliable assistance while on the road, AA Ceylon’s skilled team of professionals offer services ranging from tyre changes to vehicle first-aid. In addition to this, AA Ceylon also offers the ‘Home Start’ Service to any member whose vehicles are immobile at their residence; information services such as mileage; local road conditions and flood news through their 24-hour hotline; registered driver services; touring services; vehicle washing; and motoring advice. For this, they have ensured the implementation of the helmet rule and developed several road safety programs and awareness campaigns among the motoring community and the public. AA Ceylon is affiliated with the Federation Internationale de l’ Automobile (FIA) and the Show Your Card and Save Programme of the American Automobile Association. These affiliations entitle AA Ceylon members to various beneficial facilities across the globe.
