TVS Lanka PLC has expanded the widest range of motorcycles and scooters in Sri Lanka by adding another classy product to its fleet of scooters - the TVS Jupiter. TVS, a household name in the scooter market with three previously established models, namely Scooty Pep, Scooty Steak and Wego, is looking to revolutionize the scooter market in Sri Lanka with its amazing features which ensure TVS’s key aspects, style, safety and efficiency. TVS Jupiter is not just another scooter in the local market. It brings a bagful of features which makes sure it meets the expectations of the rider into the very limit. Not only the power which takes it forward, its sleek design ensures it’s a star on the road in every other possible way too. With a 110cc engine which delivers a solid four stroke ride experience, TVS Jupiter offers the best-in-class combination of power and fuel economy of over 62kmpl under standard condition with the help of the new CVT-i technology. The Econometer, another unique feature in the Jupiter helps the rider to switch between power and economy modes at their convenience to maximise fuel efficiency. Jupiter’s body is made of a combination of a metal and fibre, maintaining the best of aerodynamics to maintain stability and most importantly it has an external fuel fill enables you to fill petrol even without getting out of your seat. This can be very safe especially when you are carrying valuables in the space under the seat unlike all the other scooters in the Sri Lankan market today. “This is a unique feature of the Jupiter. Most of the riders used to carry goods including fresh food items under the seat where the space was allocated for carriage earlier. Since the petrol inlet was also under the seat, it couldn’t help goods spoilage from petrol spillage or its bad odour. But now no one has to worry about it,” said TVS Head of Marketing Geethal Anthony. Other first time features that have been integrated in TVS Jupiter include the patented E-Z centre stand which makes parking the scooter almost effortless. “The Patented E-Z Centre Stand is also a unique feature. This enables you or anybody in your family to park the scooter on its centre stand with just an easy push. Even a 15-year-old child can park your scooter with this almost effortlessly,” said TVS Lanka Chief Executive Officer Sampath Agalawatte. “The brightest headlamp among scooters, unique twin city lamps, and stylish LED tail lamps complete the rear end that save electrical load on the engine providing better fuel efficiency apart from high visibility. Its features also include telescopic front shock absorbers and rear gas charged suspensions for supreme ride comfort for both the rider and pillion, a large 17 litre under-seat storage and a parking brake which is similar to a hand-brake in cars. TVS Jupiter has a low fuel indicator that reminds the rider to consider refuelling, when low on fuel,” added Agalawatte. In addition to these features TVS Jupiter offers stability with agility. Its large wheelbase of 1275 mm makes it one of the most stable scooters in its class with a remarkable turning radius of 1910 mm, amongst the shortest in its peers. Lightweight, all-black, no rust alloy wheels enhances durability while tubeless tyres offer superior road grip. Jupiter has the largest leg space (375mm) amongst all scooters, providing the maximum comfortably for the rider and it can easily carry a LPG cylinder in horizontal position on the foot board, which no other competitor scooter in the market can. TVSL is backed by United Motors Lanka PLC & TVS India.
