1,484 more COVID cases, 50 new deaths

An additional 1,484 COVID-19 positive cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total active infections to 22,979.

Health authorities also announced 50 more COVID-related deaths yesterday, increasing the death toll to 3,661.

Raising fresh alarm, authorities said another 19 COVID ‘Delta’ variant cases were reported from Colombo, Piliyandala, Kilinochchi and Jaffna.
