COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 11,593 persons on Wednesday, with health officials stating that 87.9% of the population over the age of 20 has received both doses of a vaccine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 14,789,068 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 12,850,329 persons have received the second dose as well. Our World in Data states that 68.79% of the total population of Sri Lanka has received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 59.73% has received both doses.
On Wednesday, 1,317 persons received the second dose of AstraZeneca, raising the number of persons to receive the second dose of the vaccine to 1,370,642. The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,575 persons.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,853,292 persons and the second dose has been administered to 10,131,610 persons. On Wednesday, 707 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 9,024 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 212 persons on Wednesday and 298 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 494,007 persons and the second dose has been administered to 429,583 persons. The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 803,098 persons and the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 762,902 persons. On Wednesday, 35 persons received the second dose of Moderna.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 159,096 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V and 155,592 persons have received the second dose of Sputnik V.
