Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 16,361 with the confirmation of 11 COVID-19 fatalities on Tuesday.
Eight COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Tuesday were from the over-60 age group and three were from the 30 to 59 age group. Zero COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Tuesday.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.25% of the total COVID-19 deaths are over 60 years, 22.43% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.32% are below 30 years.
A total of 9,219 COVID-19 deaths confirmed to date are male and 7,142 are female. Seven COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Tuesday were female and four were male.
