12 hour water cut on Sunday

The scheduled 36 hour water cut in Colombo and its suburbs was reduced to 12 hours from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Dinesh Gunawardena said.

The areas affected by the revised water cut are — Homagama, Kesbawa, Boralasgamuwa, Meepe and Godagama and Maharagama Municipality area, Colombo, Maharagama, Kotte, Kolonnawa, Dehiwala – Mount Lavinia Municipality areas, Peliyagoda, Wattala Mabola, Kesbewa, Boralesgamuwa Municipality areas, Ja-Ela, Kelaniya, Wattala, Mahara, Dompe, Biyagama, Kotikawatta, Mulleriyawa Municipality areas and Kaldemulla, Soysapura, Telawala (Moratuwa Municipality areas), Kaduwela Municipal Council area Battaramulla, Hokandara, Malabe and Biyagama free economic zone and Malwana areas.

The interruption of water supply would be due to urgent renovations of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
